TEKAHARAWA FALLS

The Mohawk Indians knew this 135 foot high waterfalls as "The Place of High Waters". During the industrial period of Cherry Valley these waters were used to provide power for the Judd Iron Works.

Therefore the falls acquired the name of Judds Falls.

A great portion of the upper structure was displaced with the positioning of state Route 20 during the early 1950s as the "Cherry Valley by-pass" was put into place.
